Boyle Guide Bodo Funke of Angling Services Ireland is on a roll with more super pike this week. He reports:
Another week has passed and the big pike keep on coming to the boat for clients of angling guide Bodo Funke, Angling Services Ireland, with more 20lbers, meter+ fish and many double figure pike coming to fly and lures during the week.
A group of regular guests from Italy were over on their almost annual pike pilgrimage to Boyle to spend a week guided fishing with Bodo.
This time they really managed to catch and release some big pike again.
Biggest fish of the week was a 113cm/26lbs. Beauty, caught by the only first time Ireland visitor in the group Marco. His fish took a jerk bait. Marco also managed to catch two more meter+ pike during the week.
On two separate days, two 20lbs.+ pike came to the boat, while regular guest Giovanni had his first ever pike on the fly, a cracking 103cm fish and group member Andrea left it til the last day to get his biggie, a whopping 25lbs. pike.
