Terry Jackson gives fate a helping hand with a great concoction of ‘two pints of maggots, a gallon of boiled hemp, a gallon of stewed “cut-corn”, ground-bait in the form of standard crumb and some continental mix, layers mash and a tub of worms.’ No messing around here!
With this delicious meal Terry took to the water on his float tube right out to the centre of the lake and at first was surprised to draw eye to eye with a small pike at the end of his line. This was followed up later by a cracking five and a half pound tench. And then things got better and better. Terry managed a couple of fine specimen tench weighing over the 6lb mark.
