A Listowel man has been found guilty of fishing with illegal, unlicensed nets in The River Feale for the second time in five years.
The Inland Fisheries Board brought the case against Colin Browne of 26 Curragh Close, Ballybunion Road, who was observed by officials fishing in The Feale with two nets on October 27 last year.
The court heard that Mr Browne has a previous conviction for the same offence in 2010, while another conviction dates back over 20 years.
Solicitor Anne Keane said her client knowns he was wrong and has ‘learned a hard lesson’ from his actions, adding that he is unable to offer any excuse….
