It was with a sad heart that Kevin, Jane, Rebecca Lyons from Melview Lodge report:

I returned from holiday to hear the very sad news that Brian Bird had passed away while on a trip to Ireland, Brian and lifelong friend John highland were regular visitors to Melview Fishing Lodge where they both just liked to pass the time fishing in nice quiet places. Brian and John are both from the UK originally and now John lives in Wexford and Brian loved to visit John as much as possible.   John has been living in Wexford in Ireland for a number of years now and Brian used to come over and John would take him out on his boat sea fishing for a few days and then they would come up to Melview Fishing Lodge for a spot of course fishing for 5 or 6 days.

For Brian and John it was not about catching lots of fish but seeing nature as it should be, he was known for his one liners and cracking the odd joke which I know a lot of people will miss, none so more than me. Myself and family send our sincere condolences to all of Brian’s family, R.I.P.
