Kevin Lyons reports on a successful week for visitors at Melview Lodge despite weather so unpleasant they were restricted to shore angling for much of their trip…
Sean English and friend William Murphy decided on a long weekend’s pike fishing with Kevin Lyons at Melview Lodge in Longford. The weather was not the best but the guys made the most of their stay.
Due to high winds and rain they were unable to make use of the boat as much as they would have liked, but this did not stop them. They managed to find cover on land and caught a few nice pike nonetheless.
On this occasion the weekend went to Sean English with a fish of around 20lb taken on popped up dead bait, a well deserved fish after braving some bad weather on this day also.
