Shane Gallagher, fishery manager at the Drowes Salmon Fishery reports on all the activities:

There were 3 fish reported on Saturday and 2 yesterday, Monday. No fish have been reported at time of writing today. The water has dropped further to 0.73 on the gauge and water temperature is 6.74 Celsius. On Saturday Dermot Mc Neice had a sea liced, deep fish of 11.5lbs on prawn from the Meadow, Michael Mc Loughlin had a 7lbs fish on flying c from the Tinker’s Hole and there was another fish of around 7lbs on prawn from the Blackwater.

On Monday morning Brian Mc Evoy had an 8lbs fish on a 3 inch yellow belly from the Mill Pool and Paul Mc Causland had a fish around 8lbs on worm from the Upper Mill. The forecast is for mostly dry conditions with night frost up to the weekend which will lead to a continued drop in water levels. Tides are building ahead of the new moon and lunar eclipse on Friday.
