14/5/15 We Start on the North Side. Ms. Mihaela of Mallorca, fishing out of www.butlerarms.com caught her very first 7 ¾ lb. Salmon on the troll and may it be the first of many, while fishing with her ghillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and at [email protected]   A guest fly fishing out  from www.butlerarms.com caught and released a fine 4 lb. 12 oz. Sea Trout, while fishing with his ghillie Bob Priestley.

Now we head upstream by a few yards to the Bungalow. Mr. Keith Nicklin of the UK and fishing out of www.butlerarms.com caught a fine 8 lb. Salmon going by the Majors Point  on the troll, while fishing with his ghillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com  Now we head across to the Southside. Maxine Goetz of Germany, caught a fine 3 ½ lb. Sea Trout on the troll, while fishing with her ghillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com  Wind was all over the place and rough at times then calmed down with bright sunshine.

15/5/15 Lough Currane was on the quiet side with just one Sea Trout caught on the troll in the 2 lbs. class by a guest fishing with his ghillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com so on that note we will head to the photo department of local ghillie Mr. Bob Priestley’s photos of the last few days. Wind W fresh and overcast with mist rain.

16/5/15 Lough Currane was on the quiet side in the salmon and Sea Trout departments. Wind WNW fresh with reasonable cloud cover.

17/5/15 Again my Noble Anglers failed miserably to procure the mighty Salmon, on that note we will head for the Sea Trout Department, in the hired out boat department of www.oshealoughcurrane.com an angler fishing on the drift caught a fine 3 lbs. Sea Trout. In the Brown Trout department. Mr. Markus Kruse of Germany caught 15 Brown Trout on the fly and rose a couple of good fish and staying with  Markus yesterday he also caught a good few Brown Trout up to 1 lb.

Now to the à la carte department of www.butlerarms.com and their  presentation on a Lough Currane Wild Atlantic Salmon caught by Ms. Mihaela of Mallorca and I can tell you it wasn’t long before it was devoured as you can see by the pictures and where else would you get that kind of service, in other words Hooked, Caught and Cooked. Wind W fresh with good cloud cover

18/5/15   It was wild Lough Currane today with a strong and Gusty WNW blowing down the Lake, but that didn’t deter UK angler Mr. Marcel Guillou from manipulating his flies, I can tell you it wasn’t long before his skills with a fly rod were rewarded with a fine 9 lb. salmon and finished his day off with a fine sea trout. Marcel’s ghillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy, of  www.fishingwithdom.com was telling me that it was dam hard out there trying to hold a boat in those conditions, that’s not surprising, so fair play to all anglers that were out there. Wind as already stated, with reasonable cloud cover with heavy hail showers.

19/5/15  Lough Currane was on the quiet side in all departments and with a gusty and very cold Northerly wind blowing across the Lake, that’s not surprising and if any angler did have a bit of action they certainly failed miserably in their duties in not letting their fingers do the talking.
