Due to strong winds earlier in the week, angling on Carrowmore Lake improved towards the weekend. Between Friday and Sunday a total of 27 salmon were caught by local and visiting anglers alike, 16 of which were returned. The majority of the fish ranged between 5 lbs. and 7 lbs. with the odd double figure salmon being caught. Amongst the successful anglers were John Cosgrove, Martin Reuland, John Long, Toby Gibbons and U.S. visitor, M. Arsenau.
Most successful flies were Green Peter, Claret Dabbler, Clan Chief as well as several Shrimp patterns.
