Lindsey Clarke reports from the RIVER DROWES – Monday 23rd February to Sunday 1st March 2015
Water levels were good at the start of the week and but rose steadily over the week. The gauge read 0.7m on Monday but by the end of the week the river had risen to high levels with the gauge reading 0.85 by Sunday. The weather was variable with stormy conditions bringing strong winds and very wintery showers. There were a small number of rods out but the fishing was not spectacular.
There was a 7lb salmon caught on Prawn from the upper end of the river on Saturday but that is all we have on record to date. There was another couple of fish hooked and lost. One of these was a good fish that straightened the hooks of fishery owner, Shane Gallaghers lure!
