Shane Gallagher gives us an account of the river Drowes and how it looks for the weekend:
No fish have been reported since Sunday as water levels rise.
Monday and Tuesday were very cold, wet and windy. Wednesday was a much milder day but despite plenty of rods out, no fish were reported, just a couple seen and reports of one fish lost. Today saw a return to wintry conditions with strong winds and a mixture of hail, sleet and snow. The water continued to rise slowly all week and the gauge at the Four Masters’ Bridge is reading 0.81 metres this evening and will rise further by morning.
The forecast for the weekend is for milder conditions for Saturday but more heavy rain. Sunday will be cooler but drier.
