At  Union Hall, the two boats in the Irish Deep Sea Charter fleet, Boy Scott and Rod’n’Reel have had their interest in breaking records piques as they consider the long standing conger record…

conger
This conger of 35lb was caught close to where one of 66lb had previously been taken

On Sunday we had some good congers, best of these were a 35lb Conger and a 28lb one. Jim landed one weighing 66lb in the same area in around 1998 that touched on the Irish record of 72lb. The record was set in 1914. Small by UK standards but there must be some monsters lurking around here somewhere as they all go back alive. Weather is nice and settled for the coming days if anyone want to get out before the long Winter sets in.
