The Irish Federation of Sea Anglers (IFSA) World Shore Team arrived back to Dublin this afternoon following their great result in Portugal. A podium finish is always a great result in any competition and I am sure that the Irish team now realise what a fantastic achievement it is to have secured a bronze medal at the 32nd World Shore Angling Championships in Portugal. The team were met at the airport this afternoon by IFSA Chairman Michael Quinn, who welcomed the team home and congratulated all of the individual team members for their sterling efforts that contributed to the success of the team in the World Championships.
Michael Quinn commented “the importance of this result cannot be overstated. It shows that Ireland’s anglers are among the very best in the world and can compete with the very best in the world at the highest international level. I would like to congratulate all of the team members on a fantastic performance”.
Team member Harry McKee snr commented on arrival back in Dublin “it was one of the toughest events that I have ever participated in. As a top International event it was at a completely different level altogether”.
I am sure that everyone will join us in congratulating the team on a job well done!
