Brian McCall reports on a great trip to Kerry by members IrishKayakAngling.com of last month…

Last month 5 members of IrishKayakAngling.com all met in Waterville to try to rack up some numbers for our ongoing species competition. One of our newest members, Karl, travelled all the way from the capital to join the party.

The conditions were fantastic. Blue skies and plenty of sunshine with little or no wind. Meeting in KB Fishing Shop, they stocked up on bait and hit the water. The takes started early and the fellas were kept busy. Pat caught his first bullhuss, a hard fighting fish which was the first of 5, on a mackerel strip.

Plenty more fish were caught over the weekend. In all there were bullhuss, mackerel, ling, dogfish, pouting, whiting, cuckoo wrasse, grey gurnard and pollack caught. A very productive outing.
