Donal & Connie Connolly of Nonaim Lodge report from Lough Corrib:
29/09/2015: Wonderful end to September with bright sunshine and warm balmy temperatures. The fine weather makes the last few days of the trout season more than a little difficult, but anyone enjoying the fabulous sunshine on the lake today probably didn’t mind!
Here’s a few photos from Sunday when out fishing with Jack Zager, we had a very enjoyable days wet fly fishing with 6 landed best was almost 2.75lb and the smallest was 1.5lb with several more in the 2.5lb bracket. Lovely sport with the end of the season in sight, and good memories to keep our spirits up during the close season.
The Last Fire of Trout Fishing Season!
We bid adieu to the 2015 trout & salmon season on Corrib in fine style, with balmy bright sunny and calm conditions – perhaps not best suited for fishing, but so delightful nonetheless!
The 2015 Season has been excellent from Spring right through the Summer and into late September with good fishing reported throughout the lake.
Make yourself a promise for next year to get out on the lake more often, and enjoy the magic of Lough Corrib.
Here’s to the 15th of February and the start of new fishing season!
