Tell All the youngsters that have been asking you to take them fishing and those friends who have said they would like to take up fly fishing, now’s their chance , for free! Qualified casters for lessons, fly tying, bank and boat fishing, in a lake stocked with large trout.  Even a TV crew to record your exploits !   We will keep you posted on face book and www.waterfordflyfishing.ie and Inland fisheries Ireland web site

Carrigavantry - May 23rdBoth reservoirs are well stocked and the last few warm days have seen a lot of surface activity to hatches of lake olives and duck fly’s So pay us a visit and catch some of the last years grown on fish .Knockaderry produced a brown trout for Frank Fitzgerald, that led him a merry dance as it would not fit in to his net .It was estimated at seven pounds!!  Large fish at Knockaderry, large bags at Carrigavantry, what a choice!

Carrigavantry – This 30 acre reservoir is hidden in the hills behind Tramore. The lake can be fished from the dam and road and the rest of the lake shore needs waders. The deepest part is the island at 10 feet.Prolific hatches of lake olives and damsels occur. Stocking is with both browns and rainbows. You could loose your catch here to a 20lb Pike!

Knockaderry – The deepest part of the lake is 24 feet at the dam tower, the average depth is 6ft and this results in good weed growth. Trout fatten fast in this fertile water on caddis, snails and stickle backs, while lake olives, buzzers sedges and damsels bring on prolific rises. This 80 acre reservoir is a traditional top of the water drift fishery.

New members are welcome and an active programme of fly tuition is pursued to encourage beginners and get our youth out into the countryside.
