The Irish Ladies Fly-Fishing Association report that 11 ladies from as far away as Belfast and Donegal met up at Bleach Lough, near Limerick on Sunday 5th July, for their2nd outing of the year…

It was great to see everyone again. We were warmly welcomed by all the club members from Bleach Lough Anglers who helped us carry our gear and boated us and ensured we had a most relaxing day out on this pristine limestone lake. Thanks to Dave from Bleach Lough for hosting us. The fishing was excellent and it was lovely to welcome our newest member Michelle Hay from Donegal.

The winner of the event was Julie Gerry with 10 fish, hot on her heels was Julie McGeever with 9 fish. Top boatman was Peter Buston who had 12 fish to his boat. Successful flies varied from daddies, diawl bachs to boobies, blobs and sparklers.

Thanks Hazel for all the many arrangements. We then had a quick bite at O’Deas bar afterwards to get a catch up and a good chat.

Go fishing…
