If it was fishing and fun you were looking for last weekend, Oaklands Lake Fishery was the place to be with two matches taking place. Saturday saw the junior league continues draw while on Sunday there was an open match draw. This was then followed up by the New Ross Cub Scouts fishing day.
Winners of the junior section were:
- Section A winner – Niall O Briene 68lb
- Section b winner – John Browne 76lb
- Section c winner – Ryan O Donagh 12lb

Young Enda Minogue came out on top in the Open match with a fantastic 172lb from peg 30.
