Jarlaith Gallagher of Rinn-Shannon & District Angling Club reports on a great start to 2016 on Lough Rowan…

Pike anglers on Lough Rowan, Mohill, Co. Leitrim (managed by Rinn-Shannon and District Angling Club) have had a very successful January. Pictured is Peter Flatley Mohill with his 27lb fish caught on a pollan deadbait last week. It should be noted that the fish had spawned so would possibly have been over the thirty pound mark Pre spawning.

All fish captured using various deadbaits. Unfortunately the anglers involved did not want their photographs on the web or in my Leitrim Observer column “The Last Cast” apart from RSDAC angler Peter Flatley who you might remember from his double of 25lb fish a few years ago on Lough Rowan.
