Michael Flanagan from Midland Angling reports:
Yearly Lough Lene Angling Association host the Chairman Pairs fly fishing competition as the trout season winds down in September. All proceeds from this competition is donated to a different charity, and this year the Royal National Lifeboat Institution received a huge cheque for 5,525 Euro from officers of Lough Lene Angling Association. Capt. John McKenna Lifeboat Sea Safety Officer dropped down to Collinstown last week, and was presented with proceeds from the competition. On hand for the presentation was Andy Cosgrove Lough Lene Treasure, Pat Browne Lene Competition Captain, and Tom Fagan Chairman of Lough Lene Angling Association. Next years Chairman Pair’s competition will take place on Saturday September 30th and all proceeds will be going towards Collinstown Church Roof Funds.
