Lough Muckno angling report:
Just a brief preview of activity on lough Muckno ahead of the frenzied festival period coming up . The festival scene on this unrivalled venue commences with the Feedermasters on the 4th September 2016 on which plus 60 are now ticket holders and continues unbroken for 16 days, over which period will be fished Feeder only Festivals and opens followed by the mighty Co Monaghan Pairs, one of the most enduring Festivals in the irish Angling tourist calendar being in its 40th year unbroken and now revamped and sponsored significantly, is seeing the numbers of twenty years ago, when in its hey day. These festivals are now all in the hands of the lough Muvkno Matches and Festivals group, who extend a big Irish welcome to all of our hundreds of visiting and home based anglers, over the next frenetic month.
Fresh bait will be available Courtesy of the ever reliable owners of Irish bait and Tackle, Peter and Cathy Nicholson at the draw centre, at the commencement of each Festival and event and at all appropriate intervals after that, to service all of your needs adequately, in view of the huge weights of large Roach, hybrids and skimmers, currently coming off the venue.
Brief preview of how the venue is fishing:
The annual Dutch festival headed by William Van Den Helm is currently underway rotating between White Island Yellow Island and Concra Wood and with two days gone, each and every angler is averaging 16kgs plus each day.
William was the winner today on Yellow Island, topping the ten man group with 19.800kgs of beautiful Roach and hybrids on the pole.
The lowest weight of the ten anglers today on yellow Island was 12,200kgs .
September promises to be a record breaker, with everything visiting anglers want, including splendid fishing of the fairest type, in the friendliest most accessible and fairest environment.

Lough Side Angling Club.
Please note a change in pegs being utilised by this club Saturday 3rd September 2016 who have now booked Concra Wood pegs 45 to 65 for Saturday 3rd September 2016 and pegs 200 to 220 Yellow Island for Saturday 17th September 2016.
This, though booked for many months has been done to kindly facilitate the running of the Feeder Masters on the following day 4th September for the 60 anglers already booked on.

Please all anglers note that a £20 pools entry also applies to the Feedermatters qualifier on the 4th September 2016 all of which will be paid out as follows:
Top 4 in the event.
Winner of every section of 10 gets €75 and default section win applies,leaving us with 10 prizes in all on the day.
Draw for this Feeder Masters event is at the Old Coach Inn where disinfectioin is mandatory.
Bait van will be in attendance.
Registration at 8am onwards, plus mandatory pools entry, followed by an announcement of the rules that apply.
Fishing 11am to 4pm.
Return to draw centre after event for presentation.
With 3 sections of 20 anglers the winner from each section will qualify for the grand final.

The big question is: Can the two Irish hopefuls pictured herein make the grand final, as with the consistency they have shown on this venue, who would bet against it???
