Northern Ireland Cross Community Anging NICCA report
The final round of the NICCA Adult Pike League took place on Sunday at Beechhill Fishery in Newtownards.
The day started overcast with almost flat calm water conditons but due to the past heavy rains the water was very brown.
Going into the final round anyone of three anglers could have won the overall league.
It proved to be a very difficult day with all anglers trying every tactic and baits to try and claim the title.
The winner on the day and overall championship went to Wieslaw Nowicki.
Wieslaw caught his winning fish on a 9ft Savage Gear 2.75TC rod using a Spratt bait on the float method.
Congratulations to Wieslaw and very well done to everyone who took.
Special thanks to Competition Secretary, Andy Meaney who was also supported in his duties by Jim Anderson and Alan Ferguson.
