Mr. Noel Ross and Mr. Tom Smith from Dublin and fishing in the hired out Boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com caught 11 Sea Trout, ranging from Junior Class up to 2 lbs. Wind ENE light with the odd light shower.
15/9/16 In the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com UK fly anglers, Mr. Nigel Stevens and his Brother topped yesterday’s catch with 22 Juniors. Now we finish today’s action again in the fly department, Mr. Stefan Kuth and his good friend Werner, while fishing with their Gillie, caught 7 Juniors on the Drift. Wind West light with bright sunshine all day.
16/9/16 We start on the South Side of the Lake, Mr. Tom Smith and Mr, Noel Ross, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly ofwww.lakelandshouse.com caught a fine 6 lbs. Salmon on the troll and not satisfied with that, they put their trolling rods to one side and manipulated their Flies across the water, by the end of their day they had caught 6 Sea Trout ranging from Juniors up to 2 lbs. All in all you can say they had a cracker of a day, staying with the fly, UK angler Mr. Nigel Henshaw, while fishing with his Gillie, caught 1 Salmon / Grilse and finished their day off with 6 Trout all caught on the fly. A guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught 2 Juniors on the drift. A Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Ternce Wharton, also caught a few nice Juniors on the drift and staying with Terence in the past few days has caught one Salmon on the troll, while fishing with his guest. Now to the hired out boat department ofwww.oshealoughcurrane.com Mr. Mike O’Harrlain caught a fine 4 lbs Sea Trout on the drift and in the words of one Gillie and I quote the last few days, the fishing hasn’t been bad. Wind North Light with reasonable cloud cover.
17/9/16 In the last few days, Mr. Jim Marriot and fishing party and fishing with their Gillie’s Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Between the two Boats they caught 20 Sea Trout up to 2 lbs. All were C&R. Now for today’s action, we start at the bungalow and the hired out boat department of www.oshealoughcurrane.com Mr. Brian O’Connell and Richie White, caught 5 Sea Trout and Mr. Richie White finished their day off with a fine Salmon. Staying in Neil’s hired out boat department Mr. Mike O’Hanranan caught 4 Sea Trout on the Drift and last but not least, an angler fishing out of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 3 Trout up to 2 lbs. and just for the record all the Bungalow catches were C&R. Now we head for the South Side and a Mixture of the hired out boat department and the Gillie at the helm. We Start in the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Bob and Roman from Luxemburg, they caught 14 Trout on the drift. The Steven Brothers from the UK caught 11 Sea Trout from Junior Class up to 2 lbs. also in good form in Frank’s hired out boat department was Mr. DJ Riordan from Killarney, who caught 6 Juniors, another of Franks hired out boats had 9 Sea Trout to his rod and last but not least Mr. Michael Debrun fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly ofwww.lakelandshouse.com caught 3 Juniors. Wind W light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover.
18/9/16 Lough Currane was on the quiet side as fly anglers changed their flies and their fly lines from floating to intermediate with no immediate effect and by the end of the day you can say without any fear of contradiction, with no effect at all and as I say that I have just received a Text from local Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea ofwww.oshealoughcurrane.com and I quote, Bob and Roman from Luxemburg caught 3 Trout on the fly with me. So on that note we go to the backdate department of the hired out boat department of www.Lakelandshouse.com yesterday, Mr. Steven Nation and Mr. P Murphy, caught 8 Juniors on the drift. Now for a bit of stand up comedy, today I received a photo of an Angler trying out new supposed life saving gear and going by the photo my advice is stay in the Fishing shed Lads. Wind North light with reasonable cloud cover and the odd shower.
19/9/16 UK fly angler, Mr. Nigel Henshaw, while fishing with his Gillie, caught 1 Junior and finished their day with a fine 2 lbs. Brown Trout. For the rest of the angling community, they failed miserably in their duties in the procuring of a wild game fish, or were they trying to camouflage their misgivings for the lack of fish, so they could exaggerate their catches in the back bar. Wind NW light with good cloud cover.
20/9/16 There was only one Star angler today on Lough Currane and that was 15 year old Marc Whelan of Dublin, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com, caught his first ever Sea Trout / junior on the fly and it wasn’t long before he followed it up with a another fine Junior, so congratulations to Marc and may it be the first of many. Now we head across to the South Side and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Niall O’Hearcain and his good friend, caught 6 Juniors on the drift. Now for the rest of the angling news, well there isn’t any for the simple reason the rest of the participating anglers failed miserably in their duties in all departments, so on that note we go to quote of the day and that goes to local Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, I ain’t out in that pond, I’m fishing for a Lobster, Cheers!! Wind SW light with good cloud cover with the odd light shower this afternoon.
That is your ration from the last week on Lough Currane, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery, no spin no fly’s just facts.
