Billy Downes reports that as of Wednesday 13th July water at 1.4m at the Laune Bridge which is beautiful water for all methods. Salmon are being seen running the river and members are meeting fish. Some even managing to land one or two.
Danny Joy enJOYed good fishing on Monday evening. He met and played two fish well into double figures. He lost one and landed one of 11.5 lbs. Danny met another fish on Tuesday.
Matt Standen managed to land a fish on the fly at last after meeting a good few over the last few weeks but lost them at the net. Today’s fish was 5 lbs.
There were salmon and grilse see running the river each day especially over days when nets are off. There is a distinct pattern to the year now. On Saturday, Sunday and Mondays there is a much greater chance of seeing a fish or meeting a fish – no commercial nets.
Prospects: Judging by fish seen running the river there has to be a good chance on all methods in this beautiful water for the rest of the week.
Permits for Laune Anglers waters from now to 31st July cost only €25 excellent value compared to other fisheries and the chances of a fish.
Beat 3:The Beat is producing a few fish each week. The Brown trout fishing continues good. Please note that the €10 trout permit allows an angler to fish for brown trout ‘fly only’ If you want to spin or worm fish you need to purchase a €25 permit.

Day permits are the same as last year €25 to the end of July and €35 for the months of August and September. Be sure to display your permit on the dash of your car with the date and permit number visible and have the other part with you because you will be asked by members to identify yourself as a legitimate ‘One Day Member’ / Permit Holder.
