Frank Maunsell from the Owenmore Fishery reports:

03 September: The recent dry spell has finally ended. We had torrential rain on Thursday. The river was in perfect order on Friday. There are still fish running. There were grilse and sea trout met, all fresh with sealice. Saturday morning raining heavily at the moment. The river is going to rise so it will be Sunday before it will fish. We have very high tides at the moment and with plenty fresh water everything is looking good for the next week. We will take two hours off on Sunday and we will watch Tipperary give Kilkenny a right good game of it and maybe we might have new All Ireland Champions and when the celebrations are starting we will be back on the river lifting into fish so we have the best of everything.
