Lindsey Clarke reports from the RIVER DROWES – Monday 28th March to Sunday 3rd April 2016.
Water levels were lovely over the week once again. On Monday the gauge read 0.57m and the river gently rose to read 0.59m on the gauge by the end of Sunday. Given here are some of the catches taken from the fishery. Catch Register. On Tuesday, Michael Kruse recorded a 6lb salmon caught on a fly from the Mill Pool and Gary Morrow accounted for an 8lb salmon caught on prawn from the Sandhole.
On Wednesday, Julian Ciconte reported an 8lb salmon caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from The Wash Stones. On Thursday, Sean Farrell logged a 4lb fish caught on shrimp from The Wash Stones and Fergal Hanley accounted for an 8lb salmon caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from Rooney’s. On Sunday, Niall Ritchie caught and released a 5½lb fish on a fly from the Terrace.
