Kit Dunne normally fishes out of Wicklow but he had a bit of prospecting for porbeagle on his mind. Through experimenting in the past Kit has developed the angling potential for his customers in Wicklow and he is hoping to do something similar in Kilmore Quay with the the shark fishing market. Unfortunately on this trip the porbeagles were not about but the capture of 3 good blue shark kept the anglers on board more than happy.
One of the party was lucky enough to catch his first blue, while 2 of the others both caught PBs.
Daniel O’Kelly had this to day about his catch “Had my biggest blue at 82lbs a capture I will never forget. I drew the short rod in the draw. I.e. closest to the chum bag. Watching them circle the bag was amazing. One was very high in the water so I had to hand line the bait in front of the fish. I Watched it take the bait and then setting the hook by hand was just an unbelievable experience.”
