The very unsettled weather lately has made fly fishing tough on the River Boyne and the strong gusty winds in particular making dry fly fishing for trout very difficult indeed. However, yesterday saw some respite from the difficult conditions as the wind settled a bit. Vincent and Niamh fished with angling guide Peter Cunningham on the lower Boyne and had some nice trout fishing. Water levels are very low and clear in the river at the moment and there have been hatches of blue winged olives in the afternoons.
