Snake fly and buzzers work well for John Hasson on Cashel Lake Trout Fishery

The staff at Cashel Lake View Trout Fishery and Bed & Breakfast wish to take this opportunity to thanks all our customers for their business in 2015 and also to wish everyone a Peaceful and Happy New Year for 2016.

Limavady’s Sean Cottle and Ken Turner had a pleasant day using their usual nymphs and lures but didn’t manage to get quite so many to the bank. On the other hand, Danny Walker and Jim Russell (Newtownabbey and Monkstown) landed quite a few trout taking two home which weighed nearly 4lb. Dungiven’s John Hasson released sixteen trout over two short days which fell to the snake fly and buzzers. Derry’s Gavin Campbell and Garry McCamphill bagged two each weighing 5lb 6ozs and 6lb which fell to klinkhammers. Dungiven’s Andrew Logan and Ian Miller released eight and two respectively which took wee buzzers. Andrew got one at 6.5lb which he released.
Andy McClelland and William Kinnaird (Antrim) released fourteen and two respectively which fell to small lures and buzzers while Cahal Mullan and Conair McCloskey released a few trout which took their favourite wet patterns. Andy hooked one near 20lb which got away.
