The Irish Federation of Sea Anglers report on the 2015 Species Hunt:
Congratulations to Tim O’Sullivan from Galway Bay Sea Angling Club winner of the 2015 Species Hunt with an incredible 58 species and a total of 5952 points, 2nd place goes to Derek Kenrick from West Cork+District SAC with 51 species and 5250 points and 3rd place to Stephen O Donovan again from West Cork+District SAC with 43 Species and 4310 points.

Winner of the Junior section was young Eoin Foley Eoin Angler from Tralee Bay Sea Angling Club with 26 species and 2487 points a great result from a very accomplished angler. Well done to his younger brother Oisin for coming second and Finn Healy in 3rd place.

“Again the terrible weather during December really affected people’s chances of getting out to fish. The couple of notable fish that were sent in are Fiacra McKenna’s Sea Trout of 52cm, Stephen O Donovan had some great fishing with 3 new species hunt records, first was a Whiting of 42cm next was a Freshwater Eel of 62cm and the December fish of the month was a cracking Cod 7lb 2oz.
