The long wait is finally over as the Winter Shore Angling Festival 2016, sponsored by Tronixpro, Vercelli and Cinnetic gets under way tomorrow Thursday 28th January on the beaches of east Co Wexford. Micheál Quinn was in contact to let us know that registration and sign in will be taking place from 08.30 at Sean Ogs in Kilmuckridge. Following registration anglers will be heading off to their allotted pegs to set up and await the all in. What is being hailed as the biggest shore angling festivals in Ireland in years will see 107 anglers from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Iceland compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the sea angling calendar.
Many anglers travelled big distances to compete in this event and a number of anglers had to wait longer than anticipated following the gale force winds over the last few days. Luckily, the winds eased today enabling all remaining entrants to travel. Keep an eye out here for up to date reports on this great event.
