Monday 29th May  to Sunday 11th June 2017

The Owenea was plagued by low water for over the first week. The second week brought higher levels but still lower than desirable except for 1 good (but dirty) flood reading 0.40m which occurred on Saturday 10th June. The gauge average over the fortnight read 0.14 metres. The fishery was fairly quiet with only 15 visiting rods fishing over the fortnight. To date we have 7 salmon recorded in the register.

On the 30th May, Alan Watson recorded an 8½lb salmon caught on a fly from beat 8. On the 1st June Alan reported a 4lb grilse caught on a fly from beat 8. On the 4th Alan logged a 3lb grilse caught & released on a fly from beat 8. On the 6th, Michael McCrory recorded a 4lb grilse caught on a fly from beat 7.
