Angling guide Mick Flanagan tells us:
Plenty of boats were out and about last week on Ennell, as the first few spent Mayfly dropped back out on the Lake. Many anglers reported catching quite a number of small fish, but the odd good trout was also caught.
This Sunday May 28th Lough Ennell Anglers host the Rex Beaumount Cup, and hopefully the weather will be ok for this event. Last season Mullingar angler Kenny Kiernan produced a lump of an Ennel trout weighing 4.332lbs to win on the day. Fishing is from 11am-7pm.
