It’s been a busy time for the shore and boat anglers around Donegal. Stefan Martin from Killybegs Mariners SAC has all the news…

July: Our Isle of Man friends enjoying a weeks shore fishing in sunny Killybegs before the Killybegs sea angling boat competition this weekend, here Stanlee Cooper releasing back a nice spotted ray to the bay nice one fellas.

July: Well done Mike Sherwood on catching a Tope, Blue shark and a Porbeagle all in one day in Donegal, great stuff! It looks like this is the first ever IGFA shark grand slam in Ireland, tope, blue shark and porbeagle in one day.

July: Huge congratulations to Michael Callaghan winning the Killybegs sea angling club competition this weekend. It’s Michaels first time winning this comp (usually skippering his boat) and well done fresh after winning gold medal with the irish team at the home nations. Top 5 were Michael Callaghan, Mark Diver, Michael Patton, Pat Cunningham and Gavin Dorrian. Winning junior was Conan Slater. Most species Mark Diver. Best team overall Cameron Sayle, Gerry McBrearty and Aidy Herrity Well done to all.

July: Spotted and Thornback rays, rest and recovery session in an oxygenated rock pool before sliding off with an incoming wave, great to see the fish go back nice and healthy.

July: A nice one for the species list with the good weather letting the boats out to the bank for the Bluemouth. Mariners member Brian got this one along with 16 to the boat on a day out with Adrian Molloy. Very nice catch.
