Killian Morgan and his fishing friends had a day out pike fishing in the Cavan area last Thursday. The lads were on the water from 9am and it was the kind of day that only those passionate about angling would stick with it. Water levels are through the roof on most waters but despite this the lads kept trying. During the morning, Killians’ alarm sounded and he tightened into a fish which had taken a half mackerel bait. It turned out to be a beauty of a wild brown trout which was carefully returned to the water after this quick photo. A small jack pike also obliged later in the day but Killian was more than happy with his 4.5lb trout.
