GLORE PIKE COMPETITION.
Last Sunday January 14th Glore Anglers hosted their first pike competition of the 2018 season. It was an 11am start and we finished at 3.30pm with a half time weigh-in at 1pm. Conditions at the start of the competition were chilly and there was a good breeze blowing across this North Westmeath Lake just outside Castlepollard. A few regular Glore anglers were missing as the Flu Bug caught up with them, but those who competed had a nice day.

A total of 8 pike were weighed in, nothing huge but still a very good result on the day. Eddie and Gavin Hughes were competition Stuart’s, and Jennifer Maples topped the day with a pike of 3lbs 15oz.

Glore Chairman Eddie O, Donnell presented the prizes and thanked those who fished. It’s hoped to fish another pike competition Mid February.
