Mick Flanagan reports on the predator fishing on Lough Derravaragh and elsewhere…

Anthony Hoey of Green Road heads back to Australia this Thursday 6th September. Anthony really enjoyed his 6 weeks back home, meeting up with old mates, and getting back out fishing on his favourite Lakes. Anthony is a lifetime in Sidney having left Mullingar in 1987, but never lost his love for his hometown. The last few days fishing with Anthony were magic, and we had super perch and pike from Derravaragh, and a 5lbs 15oz rainbow trout from Lene on the Dry Daddy Longlegs.

COLOURFUL PERCH

Some very nice Perch have being caught in recent weeks, on light spinners, and rubber jigs. The Shapiro family was over from Hoffenheim in Germany and Danil boated a beautiful coloured Perch on Derravaragh.

On Ree my nephew Cathal Flanagan was out with dad J.J. and also had a nice Perch on the troll. The Perch fishing will pick up come late October and over the winter Months, when some cracking fish will be caught on the likes of Ennell and Derravaragh. Watch this space.
