Osgur Grieve was in touch with the latest news from the Erriff where 20 fish were caught between 14th – 19th June…
We have had 20 salmon caught for the period. Some of the catches included Julia Horne’s 9.2lbs ranched salmon and 3lbs. ranched grilse on Thursday morning the 14th. Julia caught these on a park shrimp conehead in the middle and lower garden pool.
James Gould fished on Friday 15th and released a wild 4.5lbs. wild grilse from the Coronation pool on Beat 8 using a Cascade variant.
Kieran Clancy fished the morning of June 16th after a flood of 1.5m the night before and had 3 salmon weighing 4.5lbs., 5lbs., and 8lbs, 2 of which were wild and released and hooked and lost some more. These fish came to a Cascade in the Falls pool. Later that day Thomas Weiss had a ranched salmon of 8lbs. on a posh tosh conehead in the middle garden pool. Arthur Muckian had a 5.25lbs ranched grilse from the Falls on a Cascade and James Stafford had a 9lbs. ranched salmon from the middle garden on a Curry’s red shrimp.
On Monday morning the 18th Ken Livingstone had 2 ranched salmon of 8lbs. and 3.5lbs.from the middle garden pool on a Cascade. That evening John Ryan had 2 wild salmon weighing 11lbs. and 14lbs. both released, these came from the lower garden and falls pool on a Collie dog and a Cascade.
On Tuesday 19th John Phelan had a 5lbs. ranched grilse from the lower garden pool on an orange shrimp fly.
