Monday 27th August  to Sunday 2nd September 2018.

The Owenea had lovely water levels over the first 3 days of the week. On Monday the gauge read 0.30m, on Tuesday 0.24m and on Wednesday 0.28m. The river then fell somewhat but water levels remained fair over the rest of the week with the gauge reading from 0.16m to 0.20m. The gauge average for the week was fair reading 0.21m. 20 visiting rods fished for the week and there were a number of fish recorded.

On Tuesday, Anthony Carr recorded 2 salmon caught & released weighing 4 & 14lb on fly from beats 5 and 3 respectively. The following day Anthony reported 2 more salmon weighing 4 & 6lb caught & released on a fly from beats 5 & 4 respectively.

On Wednesday, Alan Watson recorded a 4lb grilse caught & released on a fly from beat 8.

At present there is some rain forecast towards the weekend of this week but at present it looks like rainfall levels will be light. We hope there is enough to bring some decent water levels.
