Stefan Martin reports from Mullaghmore, where the Killybegs Mariners fished the 7th leg of their winter league…

12 December:Â Good to see some fine sessions on the beach this week before the weekends open competition. Plenty of good flounder to late 30s along with counting size coleys, pollack, sea trout plus dogfish. A sign of the warm and windy winter so far was a session after cod for Johnny but every time the lug baits hit the bottom the Ballan wrasse were taking the hooks even this late on in the season with no proper frosts yet. Some fine whiting and a few codling on a change of venue keeping things interesting

13 December:Â Some great flounder for Michael and Cormac last evening breaking the magical 40cm mark always nice.
