Menapia Sea Anglers report on their last competition of 2018…

12 December: Menapia held their last competition of the year and awards night afterwards last Saturday, fishing on the day was good with the winner being Johnny Denby with a bag of 25 fish mostly Flounder, Second place went to James Gordon with 24 fish and in third place was James Duffy with 23 fish. With a staggering 2,055 in size fish caught and released in their 14 club competitions if 2018 which included hounds to 100cms and Flounder to 49cms.

The crowned winner of the club master angler and overall winner of the year was our youngest member Sean Carley who had a comfortable five points to spare on second place Joe Carley, in third place was Brendan Wall just two points off Joe.

Most Species for the year went to James Duffy with an impressive 16 different species landed including Ray, Tope, Scad,and Weaver to name a few. 

Longest fish was a tie between Brian Cantwell and Paddy Ryan each landing a 100cms smoothound.
The club will now enjoy a Christmas break and start back again early January for the 2019 season.
