Donal Kennedy reports
On Friday 4th May an international party of anglers from Ireland, Australia and Italy set out from Killala Harbour for a day’s fishing out in Killala Bay. The weather was OK with moderate winds from the south. The drift was slow and steady allowing the skipper to drift over some hard ground and it was not long before the anglers started catching fish. The catch consisted mainly of pollack and coalfish. As the day progressed the pattern was the same with some fine fish being caught. To top off the day plenty of fine big mackerel were caught. The party returned safely to harbour well pleased with their day out.
