Jason Nash reports from the Bandon…

21 Feb: No springers to report yet on the Bandon. A good few kelts have been caught, all in great condition and mostly with spinner. 1 potential spring fish was lost upriver which eventually broke the line after a 10 minute battle.

Water levels are now currently rising in the upper catchment but as we have had so many rises the water is remaining relatively clear and the river will hopefully be fishable with spinner at least.

26 Feb: Water level has been up and down with the heavy rain. Peaked at 1.454 (Curranure) yesterday, down to .953 now and falling.

Kilcoleman Fishery, Enniskeane, is renowned for its hospitality. The owners David and Patricia Lamb make a particular effort to make their guests feel at home. Past visitors have described the atmosphere as ‘laid back’ and the accommodations as ‘cosy’. Kilcoleman is “fly only” throughout the entire season. However, in certain water conditions, spinning is permitted for salmon. Trout angling is “fly only” at all times.
