Weather conditions were mixed during the month of December. However, anglers that did venture out had some success.

Good sized pike, some into double figures were caught and released on the Royal Canal in the Maynooth area. Fish fell to dead-bait and lures. Angling effort has again reduced since the reintroduction of level 5 restrictions in order to combat Covid-19.
