Keith McDonnell of Impact Fly Fishing was out testing some gear last week by putting a new prototype streamer rod through its paces. Keith ties some fabulous streamer flies, which he normally uses for chasing big trout but, for a change, his quarry on the day was the elusive spring salmon. As it happens, both the streamer flies and the new rod were more than up to the job, with 4 springers hooked on the day including landing a PB of 18lb for Keith.
