Cold seas in Clare but fishing expected to heat up soon

1085

Some of our Clare based charter skippers were out on the water this week and found that cold sea temperatures somewhat hampered catches. Luke Aston of Carrigaholt Sea Angling was on his first outing of the season and found the going slow but still found a few mackerel and a mix of other species including Pollack, Coalies and Whiting.

Macks are back in Clare

Sean Maguire of Fishing Adventures Ireland was also out on the water and found the going slow as well, but things picked up when the tide turned and the pollack started hitting the baits.

Pollack respond well to turning tide

Fishing is expected to get going over the next few weeks as the water temperatures begin to rise.
