The Monasterevin & Fisherstown Anglers are holding an open competition on Dec 10th and non club members are welcome. It’s a Fur & Feather event, and despite fishing for well over 40 years, I had to turn to Google to explain that one.

So… it’s an event where something is given out to all those who attend, and the idea is you bring a prize along and everyone goes home with something. The name originates from the fact that such events were held around Christmas, when the hunting season was in full swing, and so fur (rabbit or hare) and feather (game birds) were often given away. So that’s your Thursday trivia.
