Lure Angling Team Ireland are attending the World Championships in Riga, Latvia this week. Competing in pairs the squad members Daniel Nesbitt & Danny Colleran, and Aidan O’Connor & Krzystof Sibiga who qualified for their place on the team are new to the international scene and are being guided by David Dennis as they commenced two days of official training today.
With Zander a new species for some the first day has gone well with all species pike, zander and perch caught.
Tomorrow will see more exploration with the competition staged on the Lielupe and Daugava rivers, which flow through the heart of the city from the Gulf of Riga, with the fishing area also encompassing lakes Kisezers, Juglas ezers, Lielais Baltezers, and Mazais Baltezers.
