We have just received some sad news on the passing of Richie Johnstons Mum, Ann Johnston earlier this week. Ann passed away peacfully following a short illness. Ann has now gone to rejoin her best friend and fishing partner, Richies’ Dad Des, who passed away 3 years ago.
Ann fished all over the country and abroad and loved fly fishing for trout the most, but she also enjoyed a day after Pike. She particularly loved Lough Curranne, Loughs Corrib and Mask and also spent a lot of time on Lough Sheelin. Indeed, Ann enjoyed great sport during the Mayfly on Sheelin this year.
.
Richie and the Johnston family offer a big thank you to all who have been in touch in the last week or so. According to Richie, his Mum kept herself to herself but always was interested in how her friends and our friends were getting on.
She even fished up to last week with her grandson Noah and landed a few pike. The angling world is all the poorer for her passing. May she rest in peace.
