Cormac Walsh of the Lure Fishing Podcast has had the best week of his bass fishing year so far. Cormac thinks that the perfect new moon tide, not too big or not too small, which coincided with some high tides into darkness, switched it on big time.
He fished the early morning tides last week too, and they produced some fish on metals at distance, but as soon as high tide crept into darkness, the fish really came on the feed.
In the darkness, it was deadly shallow divers with a slow retrieve – just letting the lure do the work – that accounted for most of the fish, with some decent bass in the mix too.
The foul weather has unsettled things for now, but Cormac can’t complain after that week. Roll on the next set of tides.
