Fishing has been very steady on the west Clare reefs this week with plenty of species showing. Skipper Luke Aston says anglers were getting a nice mixed bag, with a pollack, coalfish and cod on the same trace one of the highlights. Mackerel have moved offshore a bit but still plenty showing once you get out there. Sixgill shark are still proving elusive, however!
The fishing has been so steady that anglers have struggled to stay awake on the steam home. Luckily, Luke has a very comfy wheelhouse!
Sean Maguire on the Lady Gwen also reports plenty of species among the good fishing, with a good few cod showing too.
